As construction is getting underway, the stage for Queen of Pop Madonna’s concert in Marseille, France collapsed and killed one person and injured nine others.
The incident happended at the Velodrome Stadium where the pop superstar was to have a concert on July 19. Reports said that the roof of the stage collapsed falling on the workers below. Fire officials told reporters that two of the injured workers are in critical condition.
“I am devastated to have just received this tragic news. My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news,” Madonna said in a statement issued after knowing about the tragic news.
Because of this, the concert has already been cancelled.
